Help please, need someone with experience

Hey

I am interested in making a apple ipad my main radio in my car.

anyone done this?

i have done some research but there is so many different ways to approach this.

it will be integrated in my dash, i want to know how to

a. charge it
b. get the sound to my car speakers
c. control the songs from the ipad itself not "as a accessory"
d. volume may be controled though a cheap deck hidden on the glove box or other device that i dont know about.

check out the video to see what im talking about. this guy doesn't have the answer yet.....

Oh and this is a website that makes a whole kit that you plug into your iPad that gives you a headphone jacks out with a charger and something else I can't remember. What they recommend is take the headphones jack put it into a box that gives you rca out and then amp all your speakers

I would recommend a nice external ( dash mount) preamp/eq/ crossover that will feed directly into an amplifier.
feeding the eq would be your standard headphone output jack.
charging could be done by simply disecting an ipad/ipod/iphone( car charger and direct wiring it into the car electrical( obviously with a fuse) or just buy an extra cigarette lighter adapter and you're done plug in your car charger.
not a bad idea to run an ipad as a source unit... especially if you have a 3G with a 6gb data plan

Solution

Hi. With the JVC KD-R810 you can charge and control your ipod plus it has an excellent digital to analogue converter for great sound quality. Actually it has the best sound quality of ANY deck under $500 and it is only $199. It also has a very useful eq and adjustable crossover that can drive any amplifier without distortion. Finally it has a cd player which is important because store bought cd's are still the hghest quality digital source, that does not promote ear fatique.
Oh one more thing bluetooth is included and the display colour can adapt to any dash colour scheme.
Check it out.

So you can raise all of your eq bands and then crank your deck at full volume and not send a clipped signal to your amplifier?
