HELP!! Subs are going "POP"

I just installed a new subwoofer setup. Previously i had 1 MTX TT65 12" and a pioneer GM-5400T amp. I had NO problems with this setup whatsoever. Last night i replaced that with 2 Pioneer TS-SW2501 S4 subs(10" shallow) and a Pioneer GM-D8500M. The subs are rated at 4ohm, i hooked them up parralel to the amp, the amp is rated at 600watts rms at 2ohms and each sub is rated at 300watts rms. My problem is that whenever i change the song, or source or even turn my Head Unit off the subs "pop" and sometimes after they pop they dont work for a couple seconds. I checked my amp ground wire and it is good. I then grounded my HU, then grounded the RCA shields on the HU and that didnt seem to have any effect. I need some advice, i am absolutely clueless rightnow to what may be causing this.

sounds like a speaker wire is touching ground,

time to check all your wiring (RCA, Power, speaker) do a wiggly jiggly and clean up your connections

I checked my connections and nothing. Would it be possible that if i somehow wired the subs backwards (positive to negative) that it would do that? or would they just not do anything? It is REEEAALY frustrating because everything worked perfect before, and i literally just swapped the amp and subs, using the same connections and now it does this....

A "wiggly jiggly"??.....that sounds awfully technical to me.....

Good description of how to do it tho....

id say to try a remote delay switch but you seem to be having bigger problems than that.

When they "POP" they are being pulled in, not pushing out. Then after the pop, they push out a little then settle into place. After that they just work, and pump through the whole song.

On a off-topic note, am i running my subs to their full potential? or is there an amp that would drive them better?

How do you mean? The amp is connected to the HU via RCA cable. The subs are connected to the amp via speaker cable.

I hooked up my other amp to the subs, it is a non-digital pioneer with 760watts max. I connected the subs in series to the amp and even though they are underpowered they didnt show any signs of the "pop" when changing songs. Does this mean that my amp is eff'd?? cause swapping amps did solve the problem.

... it could still have been a wiring issue (put the popping amp back in and if it pops... then the amp is the problem. If it doesn't pop the wiring was the issue)
one thing if it turns out the problem is the amp, check its behavior if you ground the amp body to the chassis... if it makes no difference it sounds like a solder joint went bad in the amp
