Ok I have a buddies deck here, he hooked it up, and it dont work. The deck is a pioneer deh-1500, it has the internal amp in it, everything powers up, but no sound, im thinkin the internal amp is gone, but i want to see if there is anything else that could be wrong.

Thanks.

That's my second guess, the first was the amp was gone. Disconnect all the speaker wires and start to hook them up one pair at a time.

if a speaker wire ever touched a live wire, that'll kill the amp. did that once.. cost $100 to repair, and i did it installing it for a guy who was buying it from me for only $200... d'oh.

I killed the amp in my deck a year ago(long story, I was an idoit)
Anyways, I just cut the amp chip off the deck's PCB and put it all back together, RCA's work great still, and I can say my entry level deck has no internal amp on it hahaha.

Kev.
