Hi all, New user with some advice wanted!
Welcome to CCA !!
I agree with dawgsbreakfast, buying off ebay is OK, but what happens if the unit dies on you... who you gonna call ?
Find yourself a reputable dealer in your area and be honest with him/her. I'm certain there's some CCA members in your area that would be able to lead you in the right direction as to who to go to. One thing's for certain, when you find the right dealer, you'll know by just talking to them whether they'll treat you fairly or not. You may pay a bit more from a local dealer, but you're guaranteed to get taken care of if you have any issues.
For equipment, you have received some very good advice; the Focal and Arc Audio equipment is excellent. My recommendation would be either Alpine or Eclipse for a head unit, Focal, MB Quart or Phoenix Gold for components, Alpine, PG or Arc Audio for amp(s) and Alpine, PG, Eclipse or Focal for sub(s).
Do you plan on doing the install yourself or have it done at a shop ?
Personally, I'd go to either one or two tens. You can still acheive the space requirements you need and overall bass response IMO will be much better.

I competed last year with pretty good succuss with a 2000 Neon. I did it with a budget of $800. Without my EQ. I suggest 6.5 and tweeter combo, because it will fit in your factory locations in the door and dash. I used the stock radio, yuck I know but hear me out. I used a QUALITY high level adaptor, to a 4 ch PPI amp, PCX series. Then to a single 12 inch sub. I ran the amp to the fronts and subs, and used the factory deck to run the rears. But I used a band pass x-over on the rears from 100-1k. I really liked the system, I built it to show novice competitors what you can do on a budget. The break down was this:
High Level Adaptor - $50
Wiring (4 guage) - $70
Amp - $370
Sub - $110
Misc. Install Parts - $50
Mids and Tweets - $150
It sounds great, and it didn't break the bank...hopes this helps in your decision!

Hey Westec, got any pics of your setup??!?
The factory locations are what have me worried. I havent pulled off the panels, but Crutchfield is telling me it's 6 3/4"?
Will a 6.5 inch mid fit in there, and then a tweeter in the dash?!?!? This is where im getting confused, I wish these fectory dealies were NORMAL sizes as opposed to crazy one off dodge stuff (I think*)
Id appreciate any decent web pqages with neon installs, ive been searching but cant find anything relevant or helpful. I WAS gonna do it on my own, but I want quality work, so MAY take it to a shop!
