HIFONICS BX1500D

Just wondering of what quality this amp is, and also if anyone knows of any real world power figures.

 

They overrate thier amps.. but they are overall good amps. I know people that have them, I also know a few that have blown. If it comes with a warranty, go for it. Great amp.

 

how much do they overrate their amps? ie it says it does 1500ms@1ohm. What would the real world numbers be?

 

I have a 2 month old bx 1205 that is comparable to my cousin's Rockford power T10001bd(hooked both in the same car and just switched speaker leads)at 1ohm. I have to say for the price(about 1/2 that of the RF) so far so great. Also has lots of features and appears to be quite efficient. I can't comment on reliability as yet though.

 

BX1500 = ~1300-1350rms

Yes everyone is right LAST YEARS Brutus line was overrated however those models have been scrapped and new ones have been put in place the 1000D, 1500D, 1800D, and 2000D are gone. This years line up are the 605D, 1205D, 1605D and 2005D, and let me tell you that they are not overrated. Hifonics saw that they had infirior products and stopped productions only after one run and fixed the problem with brand new boards.
