Hifonics Quality?

Happy may24 weekend all!
was wondering how the quality of Hifonics is! im looking for an amp to power my front stage cdt set, which consist of ES-06+, ES-02, and TW-22 silk tweet. i need 300wrms/side to power these. I was looking and just found a Hifonics Zxi 6410 (bridged 340wrms) at Sonic Electronics for $174 usd. im hard pressed to locate an online Canadian dealer to compare pricing!
Is this a good amp?
hows the price?
the pricing seems to be very good, but since i cant locate a Canadian dealer i have know way of really knowing for sure!

I know, i know. i should be keeping my money here, but this is a price i can afford right now. I have been hunting the classifieds all winter for a good deal. while there have been some. none with my power requirments.

i am open to suggestions and opinions!

thnx for the help
Dan

Buying from the USA can seem like a deal but you have to be careful. You most likely wont get a warranty, even if they say you do. Once you try to collect on it they will make you pull your hair out(even sonic electronics [btw, they don't warranty anything. Unless its DOA you're SOL]). Saying that, all my equipment was bought from the US and I've only had a few things fail.

Make sure what ever you buy from the usa is sent VIA USPS. If its sent by UPS be prepared to be raped by fee's (brokerage, taxes, UPS taxes, ect..) USPS never charges me anything other then shipping (which will cost slightly more).
I had a really good experience with DHL, but only their nextday/air service. They only charged me tax (which is what it should be; however USPS doesn't, as I said above.)

The reason I buy from the USA is the same as you. Cheap. Even with losing a Clarion APX-1301, and a Kicker CVR 10'' I still have spent less then buying local. Its the sad truth; Being a student with no money, I don't have a choice.

edit*
What I said about sonic electronics is from what I experienced. So long as it doesn't break on you, you'll be fine.

warranty loss is always an issue that is expected when buying from the us.
i have not heard any bad reviews about Sonic Electronics yet. im sure there are a few as no one is perfect.
thnx for the in site about USPS. i have heard about ups rapping and have in fact sent things back because of their over charges.. Does sonic give you the choice?

thnx Njord for posting

Actually, I don't think they ship any other way then UPS. Best fire off an email.
Nothing is wrong with Sonic electronics. They just don't expect them to follow through with their warranty service. And why would they follow through with it? It only costs them money when they are not obligated to help you.

Save up some more $ and I will try and find you a amp. You want 300w rms per channel, is that how I read you post????? You are looking at a sweatshop amp that claims to make 85w x 4 (more than likely at full clip so watch out for damage to your speakers if you do go with this amp). You have options but they are going to be limited by your budget.

Actually they were bought again in 02by maxxsonics, who make autotek, mb quart, crunch and hifonics. I have been running their stuff ever since then and have never had a problem. Im so sick of peoples ignorance when they havent used a product or they seen or heard bad things. I hear bad stuff about atomic, AQ, jbl, ED, RD, clarion, mtx and others i dont think any of them are brands. And as for chinese made crap, i garauntee, a major majaority of companies have their products assembled in China Including your MTX amp. It equals mass production at low prices= more money in the companies pocket.

As for warranty the only US based dealer that is authorized and the manufacturer will honour it is onlinecarstereo. Like i said i havent had any problems and the price is great on everything, and if you do have a problem contact maxxsonics directly and they will get you everything you need for repairs/warranties (if you bought from onlinecarstereo).

thnx guys.
please dont make this a flame thread. everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that is what i have asked for..

lowtones, i believe onlinecarstereo has this amp for the same price. if you have dealt with them please give your opinion!

MR2NR, i am looking for a good quality amp that will produce 300+rms x 2 (a little head room is good). Zapco, Arc Audio, US Amps, Hifonics are a few of the brands i have been looking at. Dont really know what direction to go just yet. im not sure whats good, whats great, and whats just plain junk. im finding it hard to find much that can produce 300rms a channel. post some options.
i dont mind saving and buying something great if thats what it takes. i have been waiting/looking since i lost my job just before xmas of last year. I dont however want to spend $1000 on less than $1000 worth of speakers. it just makes no sense.

again i welcome all opinions!

thnx all
Dan

I have baught from rob and sonicE. Can't go wrong with either. Rob has good pricing and service for sure.

I have been looking and think the best deal right now on a 4 channel amp (price\power) is this guy from sonicE's ebay store (sometimes sonicE's prices are better on their ebay store):
MB Quart DSC-4125 4-Channel AMPLIFIER - DSC4125 Car Amp - eBay (item 360153773858 end time Jun-07-09 20:56:53 PDT)

some sellers sell that amp cheeper but won't ship to Canada or will only ship with UPS.
