high output alternator

Hey, guys! I drive a 2000 VW Golf 2.0 liter. I have major problems getting a high out alternator for my car. They just don't seem to be making it. I know I have options in the US like Iraggi, Mechman, Ohio Alts, etc, but I do not want to go that way. I emailed teamshadowspl in BC too, but they never got back to me for like a week now.

I really want to find a place in Toronto, where I can go, and they can get the job done from start to finish. I realize there is no replacement for displacement, and I may have to get a bigger alt with custom brackets, as direct swap fitment may not be an option for my power requirements.

My factory alt is 90A, I had it rebuilt 2-3 yrs ago to put out 120A peak, but the idle output is worse now than it was before. Anyways, looking for somewhere around 200A alt, and maybe they can even upgrade the alt positive and negative cables to a bigger gauge using something like a welding cable.

Please help...

Thanks in advance.

I found this place guys. Any feedback on pricing and quality, and do they actually do the install too?

SVA Power Products

Anything closer to GTA?

Well, here is an update. Spoke with Ray from SVA, and he pretty much told me to buy an American car, if I wanted HO alt. Something to do with VW odd-ball alts. Guess that answers my question. I may be able to find a direct fitment alt of 120A instead of 90A.

Thanks

Maybe need to add a second custom alt?? Must be room under the hood for it.. I just finished my second alt install last night and it is very tight but just fit.. 10 Si Delco externally regulated up to 20 vdc. Cost me about 4 hrs of my labour and about $ 200 in parts. Puts out 180 amps at 18 volts at Idle and 200+ at 2000 rpm.

UPDATE:

I have contacted IRAGGI alternators and now I am a proud owner of an alt which puts out rated 120A at idle and 180A peak. Direct bolt on and plug in, with a smaller pulley. Will see how long it lasts, but so far I am a happy camper.

Iraggi alts are for sale on Ebay through seller trafficjamz. That is Dominick Iraggi himself I believe, so you can send them a message and get contact, but I will PM you his email address.
