Hole in my L7 ???

The other day I opened my trunk and saw a hole inside my L7 and it wasn't a crack but a hole with half the piece still attached to it.

How can i repair the sub or does it not matter ? Its about half an inch long and not that wide ??? By the way my box is not carpeted and it moves in the back when ever i drive or turn on a high speed and it hits the sides inside the trunk. How can i make it stable ? I drive like an *** so maybe something strong i guess lol

Goto a hardware store, buy some L brackets, and self tapping screws. As for the tear you'll have to recone it. Maybe someone on here can hook you up.

About 25% less than a new sub. L brackets are generally not enough to properly mount a box. Go to plan B and invent a way to properly mount it as over time with your self professed Mario Andretti school of driving, the screws are just going to rip out of a basic L bracket. Find a way to mount both the top and the bottom of the box if possible. Now a simple solution for the sub, try a patch from a bike tire repair kit and put it on the back of the cone. Do not use it until the glue has completely set.

Loctite black max is awesome to Iv,e used it before to repair subs also while the sub is out of the box to repair it drill a couple holes right through the bottom of the box one on each side ( make sure nothing is on the othe side of the floor like the gas tank before drilling) and use some 3/8 bolts and bolt it through the floor (use large washers as well and silicone the holes)

that should fix it

I got the same thing on my recently aquired L5's. Gonna use some re-cone glue (similar to the loctite i guess) on the back of the cone to make sure it doens't .

Not sure what to do to fill the hole tho. Fiberglass cloth? or just goop? Any ideas??

Also, anyone have any input on painting them when i'm done repairing??

when you glue the back try adding a thin piece of plastic about 3-5 thou thickness over the entire hole(on the back) overlapping it 1/2 centimeter all the way around this will stop it from ing and make it less noticeable from the front

if iot's a rounded hole..it's an easy fix.. if it's a tear you have yto drill a 1/8" hole at the edges of each side of the tear to prevent it from ripping more. Like MR2NR said.. bicycle repair patch should do it. Or some black epoxy and a small piece of rigid plastic. You really won't notice any difference in sound at all so don't worry about that
