I know some of you guys have good suggestions, let me hear them.

Looking for the usual good quality for low price.

I am also wondering, my curent system lacks in the midbase area, wonder if there is a sub out there that could compensate for this?

Not a cheap option but take a Audio Control PCA series III + Parasound amplifier + 2 Soundstream Ref12SS subs and two 4.3cu.ft ported enclosures = an extreme amount of bass.

If you need to do this cheap, go into the pawnshop, find some old tank amplifier, buy a set of low pass fmods, add some welfare prefab car sub boxes (say 2 sets of dual 12") and add 4 4 ohm 12" flashing blue light special subs wired in series.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Mu current system is a yamaha ysp-800. Its pretty cool but it would defenetly benefit from a subwoofer and my old sony sub just isnt really cutting it. 30watts dual 3inch woofer I think.

I would like the sub to be around 300$ and for its foot print to be as small as possible as it needs to fit behind my couches...

I will look into the current suggestions.

Thanks.

Chev2:
You know I'd love to have a custom chev2 subwoofer. That would rock. Are you sure you cant make one and ship it? You know... I could come up with more money if I start saving for it.

I don't know what your budget is but you can't go wrong with a Paradigm PW2200. 12" 400rms and 1500peak. Insane, clean, couch moving bass for under $1000. Velodyne builds good subs too.
