Home theater question.

I blew my Technics SB-C938 Center channel today. What would be a good replacement for it? My amp is a Sony STR DE-345, and I'm using Yamaha NSA 638 right and lefts. 2 Sony CDP CX-355's, 300 disc cd players. I've had this system since my wife and I got married, and well, this is the first time we have had a problem with it. Just curious as to what everyone would recommend. Thanks.

No, I'm pretty sure we blew the coil. No sound at all, but the channel is fine. It went all staticky first, and then PPFFFFTT. The channel still works. I've checked it. And the speaker came from a pawn shop 5 years ago for $15. SOOO, not repairing it.

What is your budget?

Usually I recomened a center that matches with you fronts. I would not recomened any Yamaha speakers however...

Go back the the pawn shop and find a sound dynamics center.
a:They sell cheap because no one has heard of them in 10 years.

b:An increadable center channel with a great high power handling tweeter.

I will post the model of mine tommorow!

^ This may be the tweeter he's referring to?.... http://cgi.ebay.com/SOUND-DYNAMICS-1-DOME-SHEILDED-TWEETS-VIFA-NEW_W0QQitemZ5704731355QQcategoryZ3276QQssPageName ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have a set of Sound Dynamics bookshelves that I'm still using to this day. Nice speakers.

Thanks for the responses. I pulled the speaker apart, just for the hell of it, and well, found out that the common ground between the two, had come off. Soooo, it's still Yamaha, and Technics for me for now. But, when I finally do blow them, I'll try a couple of the sound dynamics. I went and looked at a few different ones, and they sounded really good. Nice and loud, and clear. And, seeing as between my wife and I, we have over 450 cds, well, we like our music. And we like it loud!!!!
