Honda-Alpine interface for CD changer

Honda-Alpine interface for CD changer
Is anyone familiar with the Peripheral interface #HONIL for matching an Alpine 6-disc changer to a Honda factory head unit?
I am trying to re-use the changer (CHM-S620) in our second car and can't find a clear decription of the interface as far as what model years it works for... some websites say 1998 - 2000... while others say 1998 "and up".
My Honda Civic is a 2003 Sport coupe... will this interface work for me? The head unit has 6-disc changer controls... I'm assuming the 14-pin connection is the same as earlier model years (?).
And if not, what is the proper part # I should be looking for?
