Hooking up CD Deck out of car...

I bought a used deck off someone and I won't be putting it in my car for another couple of weeks.

I was wondering how I can go about testing it in my house somehow. What should I hook the power wire up to, the remote wire, the battery lead (alpine deck) etc etc...

Can this be done?
I just want to make sure it works soon, just in case there is a problem.

Thanks

What gets connected to the fuse? the switched power, or remote wire?

If you just want to see if it comes on, you can hook it up to your battery with your hood open. Takes all of 1 minute. I've done this before when a freind was buying used.
It took us another 5 minutes to get all 4 speaker outputs hooked up.
Measured remote output with a volt meter.
It worked. Paid the man, went home happy.
