Is this a car stereo that you're trying to use in your house? Or a home theater of some kind?

hey its a car audio system
i have 2 planet audio tens, porten box. kenwood mono amp player, i think its 400 watts, a kenwood double din deck, 4 clarion 5 1/2" and a wire set
i know i'd have to build a box to hold the deck and speakers but how do i set up the ground and the battery?

ok you need a power inverter something to go from 120vac-12vdc or 14vdc it will have a positive and negative connection on it. no battery you just plug that into the wall then hook up everything to it.

dont just plug your amp into the wall

how do they connect everything in a show room?
all the wires leading from the amp to the battery have to be converted? how would i do that?
and the back of the deck has a group of coloured wires. where do they go?

showrooms usually have a 40 amp, 14 v power supply.
they go for about 300.00
And they'll put a couple big caps on it so they can show off some amps.
All this is made to run for very short period of time.
For showing off bigger systems, they use a battery and a charger.

ahh just pick up a couple of diodes, wind up your own transformer and you are good to go!

so what i'm getting from this is i should modify my existing system because its impossible to use inside a house.
why can't i just use a simple car battery put the ground somewhre and hook up everything as it would in a car. is there anyway that is ppossible

OPPressed 06-25-2008 01:20 PM

lol if u do that make sure you connect the ground to the battery and not somewhere ;)

but seriously a AC to DC converter that steps down from 120v to 14v is pretty easy to make, its going from DC to AC thats a bitch.
