How do you guys get around border fees/ shipping ?? I want an Ap3k!!

Hey guys,

basically Im looking to buy some expensive stuff (amps for starters) for my setup but they practically want $400 for shipping alone and then Im going to take a beaig with border fees.

How do you guys buy big name products form the states and not take it at the border?? Is there a canadian place to buy items that challlenge prices to ebay/ usa ??

Im looking to buy 2 Audiopipe AP30001D's

As much as would like to support the local guy, you just won't get anywhere close to US or eBay prices. With the dollar at par now, prices should be lower but they remain high. Just look at the prices for new cars.

Since your in the GTA, make a trip to the States. I routinely buy from US vendors and eBay and have them shipped to a place in Niagara Falls, NY. Drive down Saturday morning, pick it up, drive to the border, pay the taxes and Bob's your uncle.

But when you pay with your credit card through ebay, they only ship to that address. How could you get it shipped to the place close to the border?? I better check with my PO if Im aloud across the border!! lol

But yeah, I cant even FIND a place in canada selling an AP3k. There $325 on ebay plus a uncha shipping plus a buncha border fee and tax

If you pay by CC, they will ship it wherever you want LOL. But you are better off using PayPal. There is one on eBay for $320 free shipping. My guy in NF charges $5.95 per parcel and holds it indefinitely. Taxes at the border will be 13% (just like here but it's 13% on substantially lower cost), so let's say ~$40 bucks tax. So for $370 plus maybe $10 bucks in gas you're done. And while you're down there, may as well stop and have some Buffalo wings.

Audiopipe AP30001D Audio pipe 3000-watt class-d amp [AP30001D] : Rickies Discount Electronics

the only way around duty and all that crap is to ship to the US and pick it up yourself

if your buying from the states youll pay shipping plus brokerage which can get pricy your best bet is to have all the items place on one weigh bill i have a ups account so i save a bit on brokerage other then that your best bet is to find a dealer you can purchase the items from thats local or in the same country

It has been a while... so I hope I am correct

NAFTA can be your friend, stuff made in North America doesnt pay duties (US, CA, Mexico)

I forget if UPS or Post Office is cheepest

Used stuff may have some exemptions

luke99 11-08-2010 11:16 AM

i think its if the parts are made in the na then theres no duty but unfortionitly if the parts come from china or out of north america theres still duty
