how the f***

I got a brand new DD 15" sub a few weeks ago. I have it hooked up to a Fosgate BD10001 and I blew a coil in the sub. I thought that these were impossible to blow up? I was told that they can take 6000 watts RMS.....what the f***, has this happened to anybody else here? Oh yeah, the store I got it from doesnt carry DD any more......GREAT

Interesting... sounds very uncharacteristic of a digital designs sub, but I'm sure the topic of underpowering and distortion and all that fun stuff will come up regardless, unless of course its just a faulty woofer.

nothing's perfect...sh*t happens! Every so often you get a bad banana in the bunch. Even if the store is gone, as long as it was a legit dealer, you will still get warranty, contact DD.

coil

you can actually hear it. It sounds like the coil is spinning when you turn the power on

"spinning" eh? Thats one I haven't heard yet. Grab your multi meter, unhook the sub and measure the impedence of each coil.

Rule of thumb: Trouble shoot first, then blame the product :P
