Whoa, where the heck are you buying your supplies????

 

Dukk: where do you buy youre stuff? I was told that westmarine was going to be the cheapest place in the GTA.

 

I just bought 5 gallons of resin (high quality, not the cheap IPP stuff) a gallon of catalyst in red (which is more money), 5 gallon of acetone, box of brushes, box of gloves and a catalyst dispenser cost me $184

 

Tim, where do you get youre stuff? Or do you get it through your shop and thus it is cheaper...

man...i cant believe how much I paid considering that marine shops are "supposed" to be the cheapest places...dammit.

 

I buy from a company called Composites One, they have tons of offices all over NA, they can direct you to retailers.

Most marine resin is waxed which is evil unless your working on a boat................there are many levels to resin............most are crap.......

I always get my supplies there. 5 gallons of resin is about $115 and 1.5oz matte is about $4/yard. Best is to get a roll and you'd be paying less than half per yard. All the supplies there are very reasonably priced. Good luck!

Wow I cant believe how much I over paid. I'm an idiot.

Anyway, I have the front of the box fibreglassed up and i just did a couple layers around the edges just to make sure about sealing...I sanded some of the box and it looks lik eit is turning out alright, however, I think I need to add plentyyyyy of bondo to get the look i want. Will layers of bondo stick well without cracking and all that? Where can I buy some for cheap?

BTW, did it just get itchy in here or was that just me... [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]
