if your bass is totally drowning out your speakers....well that's too much(IMO)...what's the point?...your not listening to the song anymore.....unless it's a compitition car....then there's there's never enough,,,,I would say amplify the front stage(decent speakers) and 2 subs will be fine....even three.

Well its not competition, but I LOVE bass. I was just thinking my amp would be like $1000 instead of $400 :/

there are several amps on the market that are affordable for around 400 to 500 bucks the earthquake d10 is a prime example of that for 500 bucks u could easly find a 3 to 4000 watt amp to power the res with

Each sub is 2 ohm, so I would need a 4000 watt RMS 4 ohm right?

if the subs were dual 2s u could just run at 2 ohm if u were getting 2000 rms to each sub or even 1500 rms they would still perform really good when running a bigger amp tho u could use a larger battery to keep up with the stereo but really it all on weather u want to invest in a larger stereo as the upgrades are endlesss with 1 sub in just a daily setup 1000 rms would work well and you would still have loud and nice sounding setup but it alll comes down to what u want to spend

Well I want it, I'm just hesitant because of amp prices. I already have an auxillary battery, H.O. alternator and a cap.
