First things first, stop going to Best Buy and find a good car audio dealer...

Next, start asking questions right here on the forum...

With 8 1000 W single channel amps, one for each sub, and drawing something like 160 amps each for a total of 1280 amps, your alternator should be in the same class as of one from a diesel locomotive... :)

Hope yer dad's got lots of money, alternators from diesel loco's not only HUGE, but also quite pricy... :)

There is a list on the forum here that lists the crap, the good, and the best of car audio, but where it is, I don't know.

Ok guys, where's du list ??

Thank you for advice but i got 200 amp alternator already in , and if I have to my father will install one more and also he said he can add capacitors.

no prob we all start somewhere, im still just gettin my feet wet in the car audio but definatly go to a local shop WAY better prices and customer service and better products, also if you stick around youll learn alot of things i know thats what im doing.

Well, I'm not new to the car audio scene either, other than following it for years on and off, my current vehicle I've had for 5 years now and just about paid off. I've also never upgraded the stereo in it either, all the speakers have tears in them now... :)

One must be crazy to drive 66 miles to Selective Sound (from Woodstock) and put together a 1600 W Eclipse/Focal/Arc Audio system with a price tag of $ 7500..., I can't wait... :)

Go down to Selective Sound in Mississauga and talk to Davis Leal, he's the owner there and can help you with your dreams.

As a side note, I've just recently priced a 1600 W Eclipse/Focal/Arc Audio system there, and plan to upgrade to it during July.

Why did I go way up to Selective ??. It's just within my limit of an hours drive (just a little over, actually), plus he's an authorized dealer for all the brands I'm interested in.

Hehe, I'm looking at alternators now, but i also plan to have an extra battery in place of a cap, a Kinetek Power Cell in the trunk by the amps and a optima yellow top up front.

There are so many options to choose from it is not even funny. The trick is to know which ones are going to work for your specific application. What sort of time estimate do you have to allow for install? Are you willing to leave your vehicle somewhere to have a proper install performed?

Hit up selective sound davis is a nice guy and knows what he's doing, you might wanna look into an aftermarket alarm

That roof rack is tempting, Id put like a 14cu/ft box up top with 8 12" subs to bother the neighbors. If they give me grief, Id go monster jam on their ass :3gears:
Seriously, theres always compromises to decide on. How much money are you willing to spend? What kind of music do you want to play on it? How much space are you willing to give up?

A shop in Burlington (Burlington Radioactive) last year showed me Kinetek powercells, which are small gellcells designed to replace caps, I thought they were a great idea, and stuck with the notion to get one when I upgrade.
