I got 700$, lets go shopping!

Well first off i'm buying my first car next week, i'm getting a 1998 Honda Civic SI, in great shapre - only 92 clicks on it, power everything yada yada.

Anyway after I take out my bank loan, and pay the intrest with it - I got about 700$ left over.

I'd like to get a sub and amp, and possibly a sub box for 700$ The sub box will be optional, depending on how much money I have after I get my sub and amp - My freind could build me one for alot cheaper than buying one.

Anyway I was thinking of getting a 12" Alpine type E, and an Alpine MRP-F250. I feel I only need one sub since I have a smaller car, and i'm just starting out so I don't want to go huge(but maybe someday). The amp I think will underpower the sub slightly, but its in my price range.

After taxes on all it, it should come out to around $636. My freind can hook it all up for me, no problems there. He says for me to go all alpine, because hes bit of an alpine fanboy.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Also the car comes with a cd player with multidisc changer...so thats good for now - next will come a new deck, but thats not for awhile.

Anyway i'd love some input on all this, thanks

Yeah I have wiring taken care of, its not that expensive, I can just pay that from my pocket instead of the bank loan.

Okay well I think at visions here they have type R's on sale for either 298$ or 248$...12". That in mind, could I find an amp with 300-500w of a lesser brand than alpine that could keep it 700$ or below?

wow that smartass has some good deals! Okay i'm thinking about buying a package deal of 2 10" subs in box.

I was looking at...

http://www.smartass.bz/catalog/produ...oducts_id/1909
Audiopipe - Dual 10" Bandpass
[APBP1022NL] $290.75

Seems in my price range...now I just need an amp to power them, since i;m going with 2 10" I would need a two-channel amp , would someone mind giving me some advice on which amp to pick off their site? That would be awesome...

Thanks!

Thumbs up

Well, I've never been a fan of bandpass boxes....

Having said that, if you want to stick with the Smartass, I would suggest these 2 pieces:

This 2 channel MA Audio amp, and this Dual 12s ported enclosure.

I prefer the sound of a ported box over a bandpass any day of the week, but your ears may tell you different. Also, both pieces can be used again if and when you decide to upgrade. The box will take more power from a bigger amp, and that amp would do a nice job running front coax's or component sets.
