Bought the type-Rs from this guy. They are NOT new. Nevermind that, they are missing the crossovers to make them work. The are model SPR-694A, which have the "in-line 12 dB/octave high-pass crossover with tweeter protection".
I was wondering what options do I have to make this work? The speakers have 4 terminals. 2 for the tweeters and 2 for the woofer.
Hopefully you gurus can point me in the right direction. Thank you...
edit: oh yeah and he is in winnipeg and not ontario. left messages on his cell and PM him for a week now with no reply.

Buyer beware.
Now that that's out of the way, I think you didn't get scammed at all. The "crossover" is just a simple resistor I believe with that model. They don't have a "standalone" crossover.

ah well.... i did a COD transaction. Didn't expect it to go bad either, but i guess I was wrong...
I got this picture from ebay. The xovers are those black boxes between the speakers...
Any idea how I can replicate them then if they're just resistors?

I would like to get more info on him creamedweasel, but nah violence is not called for.

Now im not to familiar with alpine speakers, but why not just go to a alpine dealer and see if they would sell these cross-overs seprate or better yet get a cap and use a sound proscoer and turn them what you want.
