Funny you bring this topic up. In our Mini it had a factory 31 amp alt. It wouldn't even keep up with the cars simple functions, never mind audio. I had looked into upgraiding as you are. I found by looking at similar sized cases for size mounting points ect. By chance ac delco had one realy close. Now 5 hours of rigging and a new 180+amp we are set for most any thing. If I can find 1 that works so can you. Unfortunetly it took me a great deal of time looking. But it was done personaly to keep my cost down. Good luck keep the faith up you'l get what you need.

 

if you are looking for a big alt it will cost you but you get what you paid for
if you think you will get one for $100 stay home

yeah, alts are an hassel. the one i got quoted for was from knu konceptz and all they could get was a 160, after that the cases got to big, plus this was a direct bolt on plug and play basically. and it was like 400 before shipping and taxes

 

that is nuts $900 for an alt, **** on that 300-on the high end 600 but 900
