i need new amp
my old amp ,pioneer gm-x924 has unfortunatly died. i need to get a new amp, but i have no idea about amps. i have 2 -12'' boston acoustic generator.
i checked from the website,it says they are 4ohm,recommended power 50 to 500watts. since i have 2 subs, does it mean 100 to 1000 watts? therfore i need an amp of 1000 watts,2 channel?

First you need to tell us how you are planning to run the subs. In stereo, or bridged? 2 ohms, or 4 ohms? Are the subs dual voice coil?
I have for sale a Kicker KX600.1 one-channel amp, which is optimal at 2 ohms. You can bridge your two subs to get 2 ohms, which will give you total of 700 watts rms.
Or, I also have a Fosgate Punch 800.2 two-channel amp, which you can run in stereo at 2 ohms, or in bridged mode at 4 ohms. This amp will put out 800-950 watts rms respectively.
Both amps are used, but in mint shape. Let me know, if you are interested, and send me a pm.

i dont really know how you connect the subs.i had them installed. the subs are still the way same connected when i used the pionner amp.
can my subs be used as 2 ohms or 4ohms? at the boston acoustics sights,it says nominal 4 ohms, whatever that means.
are the more expensive amps ,better?

If your subs are svc 4 ohm (which they appear to be), a mono amp designed to operate at 1 or 2 ohm is what you should be looking for. Again though, Quality or Kwality of the amp you decide to purchase is going to depend on your investment.

You do not need a 4 channel amp, while it can be used, the mono sub amp is the better choice for the application. Again, what $ would you like to spend on a amp. How on eath can someone recommend something without knowing this?
