I heard through the grape vine that some of the international judges were not impressed with most of the vehicles in the ISQC. Apparently one judge said that outside of a few vehicles, the rest were pretty “SH!TE”. He was expecting a lot better things sound wise at these finals……………. expecting to be blown away and was thoroughly disappointed.

Any other cars show that were not from Canada or the USA????

Anything stand out at all this year??

How was the manufacturer’s booths……………. a good turnout in that area?

All cars were from the US or Canada as far as I know - no international vehicles this time - only international judges.

Each country seemed to have it's own preferences - I think Buwalda had the most "wins" in the ISQC with 3 countries picking his as the best car. I'm sure sooner or later the full results from all countries will be posted.

I think it was the Spanish ones that really liked it loud - they smoked a speaker in one car.

Show floor area was small and disappointing - but then again I still remember the good years - it's been shrinking every year.

Paul P. talked of a unified finals next year and there were rumours of no finals if he can't get that to happen.

The installer challenger wasn't either - quite misleading - they renamed the RAT race but this time did it in real cars rather than on a sound board. Yawn.

The event was poorly adverstised locally too - no signs at all on the exterior of the convention center.

I did get to listen to more cars than ever before though - prolly about 20 of them total.

Wade: Someone mentioned that Mark Turner and a few of the other more promenent Cannucks got smoked in their classes and that generally the Canadians did poorly except for in the rookie lanes!?! IF that's the case, sounds like Canada is falling behind compared to last year.

Also someone pointed out that the majority of the big winners in SQ are running a huge amount of power.............

Sad to hear about the manufacturer's booths. Mind you, any idea on what the general public turn-out was like, outside of the criminal activity ???

Also was wondering if any happened to snag a program. I heard that the cover had an ARC Audio install on it from Mike Brandt Acura RSX (Ontario) ?!??!?!??!

I wouldn't say that the Canucks got smoked at all - it's the best showing I can recall in quite a while. It seemed like just about every class had atleast on Canadian in the top 5.

I'm pretty sure there were 4 Canadian SQ world champs.

Turnout from spectators was pretty poor imo - there's usually some local advertising and a radio station or two doing a live remote - this year there was none of that.

I didn't get a program so I can't confirm anything about Mike's cover shot. He did managed to get rearended on the way down though. Everyone was ok, but I think the car that rear ended him set off their airbags. System was fine and there wasn't too much damage to the car - visible anyway.

I guess I'll have to wait to see the "OFFICIAL" results............. all I have been hearing is a lot of rumors and junk.
