If you had....

If you had a 150.00 to 200 bucks to spend on front speakers, what would you buy. I know it is not a huge amount but for a guy like me it should satisfy my ears and not rupture my wife and son's!

Thanks

G

clarion srs-1686 should be around 200, and sound great. All the features of higher end components, but cheaper. Silk dome tweeters, outboard cross overs, fibre glass cone, and should handle 70-100 rms watts...says 250 max. Anyway, I heard last years model and thought they were a great deal.

Under 200$, probably a used or backstock set of Alpine Type Xs.

I keep liking mine more and more, the mids are playing from 3200hz down to 25hz, with about 110 watts to each and they love it.

Are you going to power them with an amp, or run them from a head unit? Very important! I see everyone assumed, that you have an amp, so I will too. CDT EF, Alpine X.

Ebay ftw.

Canadian retailers OCCASIONALLY have them in the 250 range, but I've seen a few sets on ebay for under 200$ and I bought mine for $150 so I know it can be done.

Try posting a WTB on icix, diyma and a few other places.

I know they're available there for under 200...believe me I know...but I think this guy is looking locally. The cheapest I've seen an x type comp is 350.00 for last years model. If you've seen them 250...that's a steal, let me know if you see it again.

If i had 150-200 for front speakers, i'd save more money for better speakers.

The front stage the the single most important thing you can do for good sound.
