I grew up in the edmonton area. Thats still where I do all of my shopping. Its rediculous. Brands I've heard of on this site (focal, i think rainbow was mentioned somewhere, etc) I have never seen available in edmonton. I started ordering from onlinecarstereo.com. The US is damn cheap compared to stores in edmonton. It is hard to compare, as mentioned above, when you only have 3 brands available to trial.

 

Assuming you know where to get typex for ~200 + shipping from US, I don't think it's a bad recommendation. It uses either modified seas or vifa units (don't remember exactly, because that info is not that important to me), so it isn't too bad for that price.
But if you consider authorized dealer price, which has msrp around $500, I think that's rapage.
