there was a thread asking this on DIYMA a couple days ago, and Eric Stevens came on saying Image would not be closing their doors.

However, changes were going to happen though. So who knows. That really sucks if they do shut down though.

 

That's too bad, Never had a chance to try one of there products.

 

Just looking around quickly and it looks as though the owner/founder indeed posted a statement sayin the company is shutting down. Some business terms could not be met with a partner.

 

Somethine bigger and better will come of it. Their products were too good to just get up and die. One of the partners will start another better company.

 

Aw crap! I was going to buy the ID8's or the IDQ10V3's. Great :/ Where will I find a company that has subs that hit low as ID's..?

 

Sealed box - discontinued Eclipse or TC Sounds to name two of a bazillion .

 

Rather not go with a sealed box. Wanted something new. I guess ARC's subs would do fine, other than the fact that they don't handle much power.

Wait what? Okay this is weird. Woofersetc notes that the ARC series Dual 4 ohm 8" sub can handle 250W RMS, while the ARC Audio website says that it can only handle 150W. The Image Dynamic ID8-D4 can handle 50-350W according to Wooferetc. I'm guessing by your experience, the ARC series handle more power better?
