INSURANCE HELP
#1
Hey guys I need your help fast. It seems that since my winning at IASCA my insurance has asked to see my system. Problem is that they say they might not insure me if I compete or expose the car in any "demo" manner. I need some advive in finding a new insurance or someone who can point out the way to some extra broker they know. I know we all got some nice toys in our vehicles and some extra coverage if need be. By the way I am from out of the province. If any one requires any info PM me. All the help would be appreciative if not my IASCA carreer might be cut short. Thanks to all

I just got home from work and this is the first I've seen this post.
I'm not an insurance rep or anything, but I'd ask to see the agreement and have them point out where in it that it states that. I have everything in my car insured, when I was getting it done I got into a long discussion for them about how it was for competitions and such, and they thought the idea of it was amazing..
Just out of curiousity, which insurance company are you with?

I am in Ontario and both my insurance companies I have had both were $15 a year for an extra $750 coverage.
Look around it should not be hard to find a company that has additional coverage.
Do you have an alarm?
If so they might cut you a break.
How did the find out about you competing?

Thank you all for responding. To answer everyones answers here we go: 1. Traders is the insurance company, 2. I have two alarm systems, and 3. They found out I compete because some localm rep over there saw my car in a show in Montreal.
The contract states that the company is not "equipped" to handle such claims on "big" soundsystems. So here I am waiting to see what they do with my case. I started to look around for unsderwriter policys but some will not cover the full amount. We are talking big bucks here over 5k. So I hope maybe someone could hook me up with some help. I figured we all have some serious equipment, how do we protect it? Thanks again for replying it just the last few days have been hectick since the phone call Monday morning. My insurance either continues through or on Nov.27.03 I'm in big doodoo!

dunno how much this helps, but in bc where i am....insurance covers up to $1000 as far as my stereo is concerned anything else is extra.
For coverage on my stereo i pay $15 for every $100 i want coverage for....it ended up at like $500/year for a $3500 stereo...not completely worth it and has to be paid all at once. There was some other thing worth $.50 cents per $100 on the stereo that was worth it too but i can't remember what.
All they declared is that the stereo must be connected to the car bolted down one way or another...etc etc never said anything bout showing hte car off or whatever though!
