issues with subs
issues with subs
k, I'm not really sure whats causing this. I just built and installed 2 new subs and boxes(subs aren't new). I was lissening to a song today bass sounded great at lower level(it was still fairly loud, but when I went to crank up the subs the note seemed like it was hitting twice. I turned the subs down again and only one note was hitting again. I'm running 2 Pioneer Premier Ts-W2000spl subs. Each have their own 3.25 cu boxes tuned at 33 hertz. I know I'm under powering them, running 400 w RMS to both(I haven't had the money to buy a new amp) But, the gain on the deck is usually runing at -9 or -11(kenwood) gain on amp is at about 5/8, and my crossover is turn up to 3/4. at those volumes I'm still getting wicked power to the subs. Loud enough that my nostrals feel like they are flaring without even trying, and thats before the subs start hitting double note. So thats why I don't think it's a power issue. Could it just be tuning, or could it be the box itself?
suggestions?
thanks
oh, don't think this would be the issue or not, but I'm running 4 guage welding cable, grounded to the seat post, then again from the body of the truck to the battery with 4 guage
suggestions?
