You don't need to read the whole thing, i just skimmed through and that was enough for today. The pic is worth looking at though.

btw, I'm selling all my gear and getting some hi-fi computer speakers for my backseat. (just joking of course)

Trust me, I've seen people doing stuff close to what this young miracle did.

Ive seen some pretty ghetto stuff too, like a bookshelf stereo crammed into the back of a firefly, but he thought it was funny, he also painted it black and yellow stripes... He didnt think it was an awsome system haha

I can't believe that fourm went on as long as it did. All the effort that went into it fell on deaf ears.

No only that, this forum went on and on. Why do we bother? I'm home sick today, wasting time. If I wasn't sick, I wouldn't have time for this.

Talking

The least he could have done was attach the satellite speakers to the Apillar or Kickpanels

It is a funny post but...

the whole issue of speaker placement, bass/midbass in vibrating doors, tweeter placement etc. does bring up a good issue.
Some of the small home theatre speakers have 3 1/2 inch woofers and good tweeters all in a small box.
If one were to design a dash pod to fit those drivers in and duplicating the box volume, I think they may have something. With a sub obviously.
This avoids many of the placement issues, separation of midbass/tweets etc.

What I would like to see is a entire row of small drivers just under the dash from left to right, each driven by a DSP/equalized amp, together with a calibration mic in your headrest providing perfect time allignment, imaging, etc..
something like this setup from Yamaha.

Just thinking out of the box.

^^should be easy enough to try. Anyone with a logitech 2.1 system and time to spare.
I think this that young man's adventures in car audio are just getting started. I remember the summer of 1984, strapping the JVC PC 550(the black coloured boombox supreme of the day) in the back seat, and thinking that it was the shizzle...ahh the good old days!
