Jeep Factory HU help please.

Hey all just bought a 97 Jeep Grad Cherokee Limited and love it. Also believe it or not I love the factory HU. Only problem is no CD. Now its CD changer compatible. Where would the factory hide a changer in one of these if it had one and second question is there anyone that has one kicking around and what wires do I need. Third question any one know of a module that can be hooked up to the changer portion to give me a set of RCA inputs for like an ipod or something. I know Zero about Jeeps. Maybe Prolifk can help. It has the Infinity package which I believe the amp is under the driver side passenger seat. ANy help or info on this would be great.

Thanks

I know dude I was thinking that but is there a steering wheel control module that I can use and have you ever had any luck using the factory amp with an aftermarket HU? Or do you have to put a resistor inline on the outputs to tone the signal down a bit? If i can I would not mind utlizing the amp under the seat. Any ideas. Rob or anyone, have you ever used the Axxess CHYAUX-00 aparently it gives you and AUX input through the CD changer portion on the HU.Which means I could use the Harman Kardon Drive and Play and run directly through the unit.

Steering wheel controls are kept with a peripheral piece called a PESWIX works on all jeeps 92-98 as for the factory amp it is located under the back seat, tou can use the factory amp and just conect the blue amp wire off new deck to factory amp or just bypass the amp under the back seat, i recomend from experiance just bypassing the factory amp.

Eclipse CD3000 + IPC106 (ipod interface which controls and charges the Ipod) + SIR-ECL1 (sat tuner if you want it) + AUX105 (aux in adaptor) + SWI-ECL (PAC steering wheel interface).

It should be a standard CR01 harness to integrate to the factory amplified system.

OK great thanks. Also I will be adding a sub amp or two or three or.......well you know the deal. If I want to use the High levels in on the amp should I use the signal from the input side on the factory amp or the output side. Just wondering if the signal is cleaner from the input side or not or maybe the output side has to much power to tap from. Again havn't had much experience with the Jeep sound systems and factory amps in them.

Thanks

Check the right side of the cargo area, below the window. There should be a cubby bin or some kind of lid that pops up (its like that in the newer models at least). The changer (if you have one installed from the factory), should be inside that cubby bin.

Get a proper interface adaptor if you are going to be adding amps to the factory setup. The Scosche SLC4 will do this job for you.
