I am trying to find a subwoofer that gives similar performance to that of the 10w6v2, but for less money...the appeal to me of this sub is that it doesnt require a large amount of power to get it moving, unlike say an alpine-typex, which is in the same price range(i think) but is rather power hungry, requiring an expensive amp. I know jl products tend to come at a somewhat of a price premium compared to other brands, so i was just wondering what else my options are. trunk space is limited so im trying to just stick with a single 10" driver...if i cant then i think im gonna start looking into some shallow mount subs...

 

OZ Matrix Elite and Image Dynamics IDMax. Both are in the same class of SQ as the W6V2 and work very well on 600rms. They'll each get louder than the W6 on this power also.

Usually can be found for cheaper than the W6v2 easily enough.

 

I love my sub setup, 10" w6v2 and JL 500/1 in a ported box.

 

Look for a DIamond audio D6 series or and older D5. I have a D5 running off of 300 watts RMS and it is plenty loud in a custom ported enclosure.
