JL 12w7 Question/prowedge

Looking at buying a used 12W7 in what may be a prowedge box, seller not sure. The box does have W7 engraved in the top left corner on what looks like in the picture to be black lexan. It does not however have the three cross bars. For those who know, does this seem right. Maybe an older model, what year approx. Thanks.

Don't suppose you have a picture of the box?

It really does resemble a Prowedge. I couldn't guess the year, but that will be located on the serial sticker that's usually on one of the spokes to the basket. If it's got black lexan with the W7 logo engraved, and sealed, it likely is a Prowedge. Not a bad box to start with.

lol .... In JL terms "Prowedge" is sealed and larger than a Power wedge enclosures. "Power wedge" enclosures are smaller and come both ported or sealed. THEN, they make "H.O. wedge" which is basically the same as a Prowedge only ported really low and makes JL W6 & 7's sound amazing. All box's are made driver specific. The Power wedges are more designed for JL lower lines, and the Pro & H.O. wedges for the W6 & W7's.
