JL vs. MTX

Hey,

I want to buy either a JL Audio 10w6V2 or an MTX 8500 (or 7500) to install behind the seat (sealed enclosure) in a Ford Ranger extended cab. I have a 500/1 for power. Anyone out there auditioned both of these? If so - what do you think? I like sq but I also want to feel it in my chest!

Personally, I think either of them would do the trick. It really depends how much you want to spend.
I love both companies so for me it's hard to pick one over the other.

used products from both over the years with great results. I don't think you can go wrong with either, if it's properly set up.

Just went thru a thorough investigation of the 10W6v2 against the 10W7, both in JL sealed boxes.
The 10W6 was very nice but for the extra $70, the W7 had a little stronger punch.

Image Dynamics IDMax or OZ Matrix Elite

Yeah it's not on your list but the SQ is just as good if not better than either of those (SQ is subjective so you decide with your own ears on that) and will have more output than either. With a 500/1 it will be perfectly powered.

Hardwrkr - are you talking about the sq on the 9500 or the 10w7?

I think the 9500 is out of my budget - the 7500 is just right.

Thanks

Hey

I have a mint 12" MTX 8500 for sale, PM me if you are interested in it. It is a very nice sounding yet very loud sub. I had it running off of a JL 500/1.

SQ overall. All of the driver's listed can achieve wonderful SQ with the difference of which is better being the listeners ears and expectations.
