Did someone say B&O sounds good?

I find their products are just wicked. While I was in Germany, there was this house I stayed in and they had a B&O TV and a simple low profile CD player.
When I turned the TV on, it had an electronic swivel and it faced my direction. It was so cool! I mean normally I don't go for fancy schmancy features, but functional features like that I totally go for.
The CD player had a glass window in front of the vertical loading tray that had a sensor and slid the window open when I put my hand within 8" of it. It may seem simple to some, but I thought that was way cool. Quality in terms of sound from the player and video from the TV were above mediocre. I know Europe has higher quality PAL video signals, but this stuff was pretty cool, nonetheless.

Building a pair of electrostats is alot more complicated than buying raw drivers and building boxes and crossovers for them. It's more like building the raw drivers and the raw parts for the crossovers and then spending years tuning to get them to sound right.

Hmmm, swivel TV? My dad's sony does that. B&O to me is the European equivilent of Bose (I won't go into my opinion of Bose).

Bose? No, don't say that PLEEEASE. B&O doesn't top the treble out at 12000Hz :D . No no no no no no no no. And they make cool phones, bose doesn't. Phew.

I am thinking that DWVW was referring more to how B&O focuses more on marketing and product features than product performance, just like our friends at Bose.. ;)

lol - I think I have a link at home to a site about constructing electrostats if someone really wants a frustrating project :D

Martin Logan = the best damn speakers I have ever heard regardless of price.

I went the next day to another hi-end home audio store...Sounds Of Music, and listened to the same cd's on a totally different home audio system. This time, the system consisted of a Musical Fidelity Tri Vista integrated amplifer, Musical Fidelity cd transport, Cardas cables, and Verity Audio speakers.
The Verity Audio speakers were of the cone variety consisting of a tweeter, midrange and an 8" ported subwoofer at the bottom. They stood about 5' high. In comparison to the Matin Logan speakers, these ones just did not compare in sound quality, not even close. I had the volume set to about half and the subwoofers started to distort. The sales rep came into the listnening room and asked me to turn down the volume. With the Martin Logans, even when I turned up the volume very, very loud, there was no distortion at all.
The Musical Fidelity amp and cd transport however are very beautiful.
Cardas cables are supposedly the best of the best when it comes to wiring.

Once you hear Martin Logans at a decent level on good gear you will be spoiled for most other speakers.. Nothing seems as effortless at making sound.
