I personally would do the big 3 to your vehicle if it hasn't already been done, don't worry about adding a cap. do the big 3 first, I'm telling you this through 17 years of installation experience , you will notice an unbelievable difference in your audio side of the spectrum plus the vehicle side of the spectrum. There is a very good post on the BIG 3 which show's detailed pics. check it out, do this before you do anything else to your vehicle ...........

helps your aftermarket equipment perform better and will also benefit your vehicle, changing your factory grounds will actually make your vehicle start better also. Its the best thing you can do and the cost is very little, power & ground wire, ring terminals, and your time ...........

Quick question before i get started.Did he use 2 gage or 1 for all the cables

The most important thing here is to keep this consistent, with the " BIG 3" so what this means is use what ever you have access to all the way around. 4 guage would be the minimum, if you have 0 guage then use it. but use it all the way around eg. on the alternator and the factory grounds. With the factory grounds keep them as short as possible, don't go the same length as the factory they are too long, re-root them if needed to make a shorter distance from point A - B. Keep enough slack though, for vehicle flex. Put split loom around your wiring too, this will help protect the wire also. TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT RIGHT, IT WILL PAY OFF ............ you'll be amazed of the outcome. Let me know when your done, then we'll start on the amplifier end of things.

k, do i leave my factory grounds that are already hooked up to the negative side of the battery alone. and were you referring to keeping the three cables shown in the diagram as short as possible

i am going with 2 gage since i have about ten feet sitting around. Would it be better to go with 1 through.I don't think it would make much a difference?

it your call on wire size, 2 gauge will prob be fine but I wouldnt go any smaller then 4 gauge, personally I wouldnt go smaller then 2 gauge
the shorter the runs the better, but keep a pinch of slack in the runs as steve stated as vehicles move twist bend and w/e else LOL need a bit of breathing room
