kenwood dnx5140 and ip300v

hey guys, I just picked up the dnx 5140, and had the ip300v cable lying around(bought it for my brother's 7100 and figured i'd try it on this deck since he hadn't gotten around to hooking it up to his).

I know the manual for the 5140 says to use the ip301v...

does anyone know the difference? I have my ipod nano hooked up(3rd gen i think? the stubby squarish nanos...)...

the audio plays perfectly, i can scroll, do everything EXCEPT video...

has anyone tried to hook up the ipod through using the ipod's usb cable? I read on another forum where an installer was saying to use that, but this was back in february when the deck was first released...so not much info was probably known at the time...

anyone with a 2009 kenwood double din w/ ip300v chime in?

also

the 5120 w/ upgrade 2.41 firmware can apparently play videos through the USB? can the 5140 do this? I was looking through the manual and it just says "play JPG files"...if I can play videos through the usb, then i'd be fine without the ipod reading videos lol

it will work the different with the 301 is that the i phone will work without having to put it into airplane mode. make sure that both your ipod and the deck are both updated.
