I can tell you that the 10" typhoon Series Takes like a 0.6-0.8cu' per driver after displacement. so like 1.2 to 1.6cu' for a pair sealed.

id say sealed... easier to build, takes less space up, and sounds louder to the ear than a ported box..... although ported box gives you a higher dB reading.... but if you just want something to listen in your daily driver to then ported does you no good.... my opinion atleast....ive never built a ported box myself.

IMO ported delivers a deeper bass with more feel. When running a driver in a ported box, you also don't need as much power as you do with a sealed box.

A sealed box delivers tighter, more punchy bass. And the reverse of above, you require more power to power a driver in a sealed enclosure.

Id say go ported, Ive personally never heard anyone ever tell me that a sealed will sound louder.
I have had sealed and ported boxes and the ported were always louder, and they will sound just as good with a properly designed box.

L x W x H /1728= cu'

You just have to remember that you need to subtract the thickness of your material so that you are only using the inside dimensions.
