So now that my car is actively for sale, I never did get around to finishing my current set of kicks. Too bad too cuz I wanted to hear what my new tweeters would sound like. Anyway, I'll post some pics of what I had done.

Here is with the bases already fiberglassed and trimmed and the start of an experiment on how to aim the baffles easier. Notice the little wood blocks

On a side note, I tried laying up the fiberglass two different ways. One way was to lay down the masking tape, spray with WD40 to act as the release agent and then put the fg mat and resin right on top. The other way was to put alum. foil on top of the masking tape, then mat. While the WD40/Pam spray trick probably works good on something metal like a spare tire well, I can say that alum. foil works way better for a kick panel application.

My little swivel attachment gizmo:

Here is the mids and tweets I would have used. Rockford Power 4" (check the magnet on that sucker) and a 1" large-format, soft dome tweet. My little swivel idea did not work well as the mid and tweet weigh probably close to 6-7 pounds when combined. It was too much weight on the baffle for what I wanted to do. So I aimed them the usual way.

And here is them stretched with fleece and ready for resin. The taped-up piece is the grille that I am using as a plug to squish the fleece down into the cavity where the baffle is. This is how they sit now. I have not proceeded further as that would be a waste of resin.

Page 2 shows build-up pics of the rest of the system I had in my Daytona including the old pics. Comments always welcome

I am going to get supplies right now.
I was just going to do aluminum foil and use duck tape to seal the joints.

Do I need tape layed down before I put the foil?

I would. To make sure you don't have resin seep through. You are taping the joints which is good but foil is awfully easy to poke through. I would tape the whole area behind just to be safe.
