Kicker 8L7 or 2 RE10's?
#1
I got two RE10's in a sealed box right now and I was wondering how one Kicker 8L7 in a ported box would compare. Both setups would be getting 400rms. The reason I'm looking to change is due to space in which I only have about 4 1/2" of mounting depth.

I'd say that the 2 10's would be a bit louder, but I guess it depends. What kind of car is this in?
I think the 8L7 would do pretty well in a small car or truck. Then again, the RE 10's would probably be a bit louder there too lol.

In a car that small, I would say that an 8 would do just fine. I think that the 2 10's would be louder for daily listening in the setup you have now, but I doubt it would be a landslide of a difference.
If you are needing to save space, I'd give the 8 a try, if not then just stick with what you have

I looked into the flat pioneer 12" sub but I don't think it'll will be loud enough for me. Does anyone have any other suggestions for subs with a shallow mounting depth(under 5") that will run well with 400 watts rms and would cost less then $200. I'm open to all options. I'm looking for something louder then my current setup.

8L7..... but I might be biased, due to the fact that I am selling one. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/550470/4
Check out Joe's scoresheet, 141db from an 8L7 in 1.5 cubes vented.
