so i went to the states for a couple weeks. when i was down there i picked up an older(?) kicker sub. its round all black except for the kiker logo on the dust cap and the words "free air". the only model # is "12C". any one seen/heard of this sub? any specs?

Thanks

I used to have two of those years ago, they were pretty good . I i had them in a free air set up in my old grand prix then i sold them to my cousin and he put them in a ported box in his van. They worked really well in a ported box. They were a free air version of the kicker "competition" subs. Specs might on the kicker web site if you need em.

It's a 1999 model. Same design features as the CompVR of the same year.

Kicker 12c Freeair:
-maximum amplifier power 400watts
-sensitivity 89.0dB
-frequency response 25-500Hz
-Recommended ported enclosure vol. 1.4-2.1cu.ft.
(ported enclosure given in case you decide to build a ported box for it)
