I was looking at the Kicker KX650.4 or the MTX MXA 6004.I decided on thw Kicker and bought it.Without hearing it yet,I was told that kicker was no good.I was told that they have no clairity and are over rated as far as power.This makes me think I should go with the MTX.Does anyone have an opinion?I would like to keep the kicker but can't take it back after hooking it up.

 

Kicker was a good choice. They're amps are top quality, but can be pretty expensive. I guess you pay for quality eh?

 

They are both decent brands but kicker before mtx.
But if you were to take the mtx instead i dont think you would be dissapointed.
what kinda speaks you hookin that to?

I am running a Kicker KX550.3 )three channel 50x2 for fronts, plus 400x1 for sub) and really like it. Adjustable crossovers, good power, cranks nicely and never seems to run hot. I have run a lot of different amps, and so far this one is up there on my list of amps. I don't do SQ or SPL comps, just needed an amp for daily listening, and this fits the bill for me.....

the kicker is a fine choice. i've never seen a kicker amp that didn't exceed its rated power. the KX650.4 sounds excellent too !
they are very well made pieces, so as long as you don't abuse them you'll be fine.
not to say the MTX pieces are not good either, but whomever gave you that advice is either Idiotic or ignorant.
