Kicker Subs

Hey, i was looking into some kicker subs, but i don't know what to get, whats the difference between the 06 models and the 07 models? And what kind of an amp would be the best to invest in. I was looking into getting two 10" Kickers, That are round. Or one 12" Square L7, or solo balaric, what kind of amps, and how much money do you think i would have to invest in this kind of set up. I haven't added the money for the installation, and the capacitator either. Would it be a goos investment to buy a box, or make myself one? Fibreglass, or Wood? How large of ports would i need?

Thank you

ive used kicker for ever and as a daily system its hard to beat them if you intend to compete then 1 L7 powered by a 1200.1 or 2 of them. for a really loud daily driver i would go with the same amp but run 2 comp vr's you could us them for comp as well money wise your looking at 650 for an L7 and about 350 a piece for the comps as for the amp your lookin at 700 and up .

OH? So now they're up to 3 or 4 times the US price in canada?

My 15" comp vr's were 98.00 U.S. each.

15" L7 is going for 214.00 U.S.

If I had my choice to upgrade, I'd go with the L7's. But 10" are for midbass....

Now you're talkin' The 15" is rated 1000 WRMS it comes in dvc 2 or 4 ohm.

Since you're only running 1 sub, you need the dvc 4 ohm, parallel the coils for a 2 ohm load.

If I had my choice of amps, for that, the Preimere PRS-D3000SPL is conviently rated at a real (CEA) 1000 WRMS @ 2 Ohm.

wow where are those prices? expensive!!! l7 12's go for about $300-350 authorized for a 06 model. comp vr's? around $250ish. that is canadian.
that price on the amp sounds about right though.

So how much is all of it going to cost me with your suggested products? Thank you for the reply, I really like those kinds of subs, Fibreglass or normal wooden boxes?

...

Get the L7s...get them off ebay...get 12s...the 12" L7 is a very good 12" woofer compared to what else is out there...the 15" L7 is a pretty poor woofer compared to what else is out there. Funny how that works sometimes. Also the 06's used vaccuum formed cones which were inherantly weak and the new cones are injection moulded which produces a stronger cone. Also imo black is way sweeter than the silver which to me is just a bit too gimmicky
