Kicker WarHorse - An "Affordable Amp" Now?
So what's going on with the Kicker WarHorse?
It's up for $1400 here and the U.S. guys are talking about how they were told $1300 shipped ...
At one point, was this not one of most powerful, most expensive amps ever made? Now its $1500?

I think a main issue has got to be that no one has the power supply just to turn the stupid thing on ... don't you need a truckload of batteries for operation?
This might work in a concert hall or something, I don't know. But a car?

Its rated into 14.4v and 1.5% THD... like you said a huge power hog... they probably had to drop the price considerably just to move a few.
The manual says " eight (8) 800cca 12v batteries and a minimum of 2 200 amp alts to power this beast... lol

I want to buy one just because. I won't because I'm not a tool ... Anymore
And I'm talking about real power operation, not running 1/10th of that amp or whatever you're suggesting.
It'd be fun to see though!

There are quite a few amps out there that put out 5kw++ these days, and its not uncommon for some people to run two or more of them.. really a 10kw amp is not that outlandish, especially for those involved with db drag...
For sure. Even the starter motor in a small car uses over 10Kw and that's with the small factory battery. A bass note typically doesn't last as long as cranking in cold weather, and that's without any contribution from the alternator.
