kinetik power charger

hey just wondering if anyone has ever had a chance to see how these work exactly? like how do they work? do they act as an alternator?

may be newbie questions but just trying to get the low down

I'd guess like a regular charger. if your bat dies you turn off the vehicle, hook it up to the battery and turn it on. not really like an alternator. gotta run the charger with the car off
