Caps do not create power, they store and use it. A cap will not solve your issues with your lights dimming. If you want some more pertinent info on this, drop me a pm.

A lanzar cap is as good as anyone elses 1 or 5 farad cap

Are they worth it.. not usually but sometimes. They do add a sporty look to your install, and that is what they do best.

frankly you would be better served by raising your idle speed

It depends on if there is chrome on it and the brand name printed on the front.

well, it's supposed to supply extra energy on peak transients, and store energy when the music is less demanding...for when it's needed. this is supposed to reduce the draw on your electrical system, and help prevent your lights from dimming etc...Some swear by them, others swear at them. I don't use one myself, but if you find benefit in it...it's your money...go for it!!
Personally, I would save the money and put it towards a high output alternator, a bigger battery, or the big three...that's what i did!

I love my Lanzar OPTI2000D and OPTI1532D. Enormous power. Just take a look at the on-board fusing (6 x 30)...and the OPTI1532D just eats all that power and begs for more...
