To remove the break light on the rear deck? Its kinda unnesessary considering the break lights do the same thing. I ask because theres something in it (along with other things) making noise when bass hits and I wana know if I can take it out when I take that area apart on the weekend. Also, it would be kinda annoying to carpet it because it creates depth in the back thats higher than the rest of it, which means ide have to make some weird cuts.

 

In Ontario it is against the law to remove the 3rd brake light on a vehicle that came equipped with one....u will even get a ticket if the light is not working.

Any other modifications u would like to know if they are illegal feel free to ask cause I can just about gaurantee I have been through almost everyone in court...won some but lost a danm lot.

 

I want to completely remove the thing thou. You wouldnt even notice its there once I have re-carpeted..and I doubt a cop would know its missing... but do i wana risk it?

after 1986 all cars had one and if you crash a cop may bust you on it big time

not sure if your car has a rear spoiler already.... if not, you could always find a after market one with the led brake lights.. then it should be o.k.

 

bullshit. I have 3 pathinders, 2 89's and a 88 and none of them have a third light. Just went threw an OOP and they didnt care.

if the car came with one, it HAS to be there. its not worht the hassel. you probly will never be caught for it. but theres always a chance. take it off, dissassemble it completely and jam abunch of silicon on all the joints that should quiten it down.

 

i have a 91 Cherokee and a 89 Cherokee nether one has a center light one is even American and one Canadian .

CVSE could be an *** hole to you if you take it out . i doubt you will ever get caught , however i have a friend who is CVSE who will ticket some one for having head lights to dim or tail lights to dim , they can do ridiculous things and if they want to take you off the road they probably will for something else .

don't worry about it just play stupid if ever asked , "what officer a center tail light whats that do it never had one when i bought it "

 

Trucks and SUV's didnt need a 3rd brake light until 93'... my 89 4runnner doesnt have one...
