What you need is a deep cycle battery.

don't get a deep cycle as your only battery, if you want a second then go the deep cycle route... recovery time will create more problems than it solves in a single battery installation.

yeah i know, i will keep my factory battery and using a deepcycle in the trunk. I thought a littlebit of my amp, 550watt rms is not really overkill with the 80a alt. theres 2x30amp fuse in amp, i dont think my amp is a hungry monster,,.,.,

with only 550w you shouldn't have dimming lights... look into your electrical system for other problems...

just from reading your signature it seems you have three amps? a t2 and than you say X2 t1.

even if you have just the two amps your close to exceeding your max output of your alt. 80 amps is a figurative term in a perfect condition. don`t forget about output loss at operating temperature.

i think at this point adding another battery will only add to the strain on your electrical system. now on top of running amps, it will have to charge 2 batteries. perhaps your looking at treating a sympton, rather than curing the illness......................

nah my signature said theres

one Ultimate T2-1400
two subwoofers Ultimate T1-150

LOL the confusion

maybe the dimming light is causing by my 8 awg power and ground wire... Will receive a new 4 awg soon.

Excellent point, not unlike the capacitor the battery will only be one more thing for your alternator to charge. You need to upgrade your ENTIRE electrical system's wiring. This means beefing up the alternator to bat positive, chassis to bat negative, and chassis to engine ground (a.k.a. The Big 3)

If this doesn't help then you should look at a new alternator. Additional batteries and cap will do nothing but strain the charging system further.

i have a question a little off topic, dongchen_han , how did you fit a 5 + cubic feet box in that car? i have a 91 corola , i cant think they are that different. i had 2 1.6 cf boxs in the truck and that was all that would fit.

dongchen_han 11-15-2006 08:14 AM

I put the box on the rear seat and attached, 03-07 corolla are taller I guess.
