They're all the same. they may look different and they all say they're the best, but the truth is that there are only 2 factories in the world that are set up to manufacture 1+farad capacitors in any quantity.

I had a monster cap, and the LED display circuit board said Rockford Fosgate on it. (of course there was a sticker over that)

^^^ very true

if you looking for a one for looks as well. poweracoustik has one with a blue neon in the middle. The light fickers with the bass, and it gives out an awesome glow into the car if the seat is down. the one i have is a 2.0 farad, and it looks awesome at night

How long last a cap?

alucard8008 07-07-2006 06:56 PM

How long does a capacitor last? How often do I have to replace it? At working voltage, meaning charged, a 1-Farad capacitor will last approximately 300,000 hours. The best part about using them in a car is that they are continually connected to the power source, which is good for repairing any lost or damaged dielectric oxidation on the foils. There is a small amount of electrolyte evaporation that is going on continuously with a capacitor. This is unavoidable, but fortunately is happening at a very slow rate. This evaporation has the greatest effect on capacitor lifespan. 300,000 hours is just over 34 years.

Good

Thanks for the acurate information alucard8008
