Hello, Im new around here, but hoping i can get some help. I bought 2 15 inch kicker comp subs. Ive been looking at kickers for quite awhile and just said ill go with the comps for now to see how they are. My old subs were 2 10 inch sony xplods with 2 12 sound streams, But to cut to the chase:

I have these 2 kicker 15s and im having a problem with getting an amp for them. I bought 8 ohms instead of 4 ohms as i could get the 8s way before then 4s and didnt have to wait, its not a big deal, but kinda hard to find an amp now. So my questions are:

Go mono or bridgable?

Should i go with 2 amps? I think i would work better getting 2x 500 watt amps, then dont have to worry about losing power.

Links, please link me some amps. I would like to get 1 - 2 amps, but not break the bank, thanks.

What is the part# of those subs? The Comp subs are Dual Voice Coil, aren't they? Are they dual 4ohm VCs?

Having multiple amps isn't necessary. Having an amps(s) best suited to the sub(s) is. Find an amp thats minimum stable load is equal to the load you're putting on it. If subs final wiring is 4ohms, buy a 4ohm stable amp. If wired at 1ohm, get a 1ohm stable amp.

My buddy said look at the RMS, as the peak power is just a number, the RMS is what you care about. He said this for an amp:

Run them in parallel, drops them to 4 ohm. get a 500 Watt RMS @ 4 OHM Amp, should not be hard to find....

475 watts @ 4 Ohm, ~235 Watts RMS/ speaker. More then enough. I run my subs at 200 W RMS and its a little too much for what I want from the sound.

HiFonics its good , I use a one of their 4 CH amps for my doors.

Agreed? Is that right and the right amp i need?
