Looking for a new deck

Looking for a new deck
I currently have an Alpine cde-9873 and its alright. I went searching around and I found a few people recommending the Eclipse CD5030.
It seems like it would be a good upgrade; Timing alignment, a real EQ, 5v preouts(something other then bass/treble) and still lets me search though my ipod. Also with recent laws its now illegal to talk on a phone without a hands free device. I'm not sure I would use it (i rarely talk and drive), but I did just get a new smart phone (that has bluetooth).
The main reason that is forcing me to upgrade is something to do with the volume control. It seems when I turn it up past about 20 on the deck (max is 40) the bass completely drops out. and I don't mean just on the sub, but on my components too. I've fiddled with the gains on both of my amps and it doesn't seems to make a difference. The only way I can make it sound how I like is if I tune the gains to volume 20 on the deck.
The Eclipse CD5030 seems like a winner, any other suggestions? Looking for something under $300.
Thanks.

The CD5030 is a real winner! I don't think you will find another deck with all those features and sound quality in the same price range.
The bluetooth is really good (thanks to the external mic), in the pas month i had the Pioneer DEH-700BT, Alpine 9887+KCE-BT400 and Eclipse CD7200 and they all get smoke by the CD5030. The only better solution is to use a separate device like the Parrot ck3200, but that alone will cost around 300$ with an external speaker.
The 2 only downside with this deck is that it feel a bit cheap (it's not but the feeling is there) and it can't bandpass rear and front so you can't go active unless the Xover on your amp can go high enough to do it there.
Did i mention it come with a 3 years warranty!

if the BT is not the biggest priority(?) i'd go with the 7200...the BT is not bad, just not great(sounds like a speaker phone according to my wife, but clear)...allows for active x-over, 8v pre-outs, 7 or 11 band EQ(7 in 4 sp/11 in 3 way), TA. If your Ipod is an Itouch you don't need a cord or adapter it has BT too. I've had my deck since July and absolutely love it. However it is more coin i believe(talk to MR2NR).

The reason for the quote is regarding your bluetooth experience, I am not super happy with mine, I wanted to know if there was a mic gain either in the software or on the back of the radio? Second where did you position the Mic?
*I will add in that I have an iphone which from my memory seems to be worse with bluetooth devices then my other phones.

I don't know about the iphone with the 5030, i'm using an elcheapo Nokia 2760 and a BB Bold. I don't know if there's any adjustment on the HU for the bluetooth but i know that i have a few things that i can adjust in the blackberry, maybe the settings are in the iphone?
The mic is installed right above the rear view mirror.
